WISE COUNTY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE TASK FORCE
Domestic violence in Wise County continues to be a serious problem.
Each year the DVTF takes care of hundreds of local Wise County citizens
who have been victims of domestic violence.Fortunately, the DVTF employs advocates and caseworkers who fight for
the rights of victims. They ensure that the cycle of violence stops immediately. The DVTF also operates the only shelter for victims in Wise County.
Each year, the shelter houses hundreds of victims and their children
who are without a home because of domestic violence. |

I was asked to serve on the Board of the DVTF in 2005 and it has been an excellent opportunity to serve Wise County. Our Executive Director, Pat Slayton, is a local Bridgeport resident and successful business owner. Pat and our staff are absolutely wonderful. You just cannot comprehend how much they do for victims in this county.
We are always looking for volunteers to continue our mission against domestic violence. If you have questions, or would like to volunteer, call our Outreach office at 940-626-4585 or visit our website at www.wisehope.org |
